Art Class Policy

This Policy pertains to the “Art, Learn, and Play” class, otherwise known as “Art and Play”. Please see https://malden.mapflc.com/product/art-learn-and-play-class/ for class details.

Registration

Registration is required using your primary email address, as it will be used as a form of communication. We accept all credit card payments, and all sales are final. No refunds are given unless the class is cancelled.

Refund Policy

We do not offer make-up classes or refunds for classes. Refunds are given only if the class is cancelled by the instructor, due to emergency reasons.

COVID-19-Related Policies

Masks and Social Distancing

Parents and their children aged 11 and under are required to wear a mask inside the building and outside on the grounds. As well as all visitors and staff and children ages12 and up are to wear masks in accordance with CDC guidelines. A parent and child who do not comply with these safety precautions will be asked to leave the program. Children are more than welcomed, to take brief mask breaks as needed and can step out of the classroom and briefly take a break.

Food is prohibited during class; water bottles are allowed.

Class Size

In order to allow for six feet of social distancing, the number of students in each class has been reduced. There is a maximum of 8-10 students including 2 instructors.

Children Under the Age of 12

All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older.

Class groups


Class groups will not mix during Saturday classes.


Classroom Space


The classroom will be rearranged for social distancing. Children will have their designated space where they can store their belongings. Due to limited space and capacity, we strongly advise children against bringing unnecessary items, i.e., toys from home etc.


Art Supplies


Children will be given their own kits of art supplies and materials provided for each scheduled Saturday morning class, by the Art & Play, to reduce cross-contamination by sharing supplies.


Toileting Policy

If a child needs to use the restroom or in an unlikely event that a child may wet and soil themselves, it is the primary care provider/guardian to provide aid not staff. We ask that the primary care provider/guardian bring an extra set of clothes that they can change their child into.

Property of Child & Parent/Guardian

To ensure a safe and constructive learning environment, we are not responsible for your lost or stolen valuables. The only exception to this rule is when a visitor is carrying a bag containing medical supplies and/or diaper bags for their child.


LIABILITY

We are not liable (jointly or severally) for personal injury or any special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages of any kind, or any damages whatsoever resulting from loss, whether or not advised of the possibility of damage, and on any theory of liability, arising out of or in connection with Art, Learn & Play Art program classes.

COVID- 19 RISK AND WAIVER LIABILITY

COVID-19 has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited the congregation of groups of people.

The Art & Play art program has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, we cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to COVID-19. Further, attending and participating in Art & Play art program -led classes.

By enrolling in the Art & Play art program you acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that you may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending the Art & Play art program and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death.

You understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the Art & Play art program may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of yourself and others, including, but not limited to, Art & Play art program employees, other children, and their families.

You voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to yourself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that you may experience or incur in connection with your attendance at the Art, Learn & Play art program.

On your behalf, you hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless against the Art & Play art program, its employees, agents, and representatives., of and from the Art & Play art program, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto.

You understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of the Art & Play art program, its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in the Art & Play art program.

Children artwork for a one-day outdoor exhibition. Art & Play staff will contact families to arrange pick-up. Any artwork remaining and unclaimed shall be considered abandoned and it will become property of the Art & Play art program.
